Symantec Phishing Report - January 2010

The report reviews phishing activity throughout the month of December 2009.
A close observation of phishing tactics in Asia Pacific this past month revealed some interesting highlights:
Symantec observed a four percent decrease in all phishing attacks when compared to November.
The number of phishing URLs generated using automated phishing toolkits was 21 percent, a decrease of 19 percent.
There was a 26 percent decrease in non-English phishing sites.
More than 122 web hosting services were used in December, accounting for 11 percent of all phishing attacks. This is an increase of two percent of total web hosted URLs when compared to November.
