IRESS Connects Countries with Zoom

By using Zoom to connect its 1800 strong workforce across eight countries, IRESS’s workforce has become more connected and closely aligned

Sydney, Australia – 17 June 2019: IRESS, an ASX-listed global provider of software for the financial services industry has used Zoom Video Communications’ video-first unified communications platform to connect its nearly 2,000 strong workforce, which operates across eight countries.

IRESS selected Zoom because it realised its method of connecting with its workforce was inefficient for business leaders and staff. Hosting business updates and town hall meetings required a replication of effort across each location, or leaders to visit offices across the world. Some offices simply did not have the space to gather their whole staff in one room. By utilising Zoom, IRESS was able to greatly improve how it communicated with its workforce.

“Now that we have Zoom, we can do one or two large scale webinars where we invite all our teams to come in and hear messages from our leaders simultaneously,” said Kelly Fisk, Head of Communications, IRESS. “We’ve noticed our people are more engaged during meetings. In fact, we’ve seen people ask many more questions through Zoom’s Q and A feature than we ever saw in physical meetings.”

Zoom’s initial and ongoing support was vital for IRESS, allowing it to easily transition to a video-first organisation.

“Zoom has been powerful in helping us create positive change in our business,” said Andrew Walsh, Chief Executive Officer, IRESS. “The strong support from the outset helped our people to realise the benefits of Zoom’s video first platform. Since deploying Zoom, we’ve seen a trend away from phone calls and towards video calls. It’s now much easier and more efficient for us to coordinate across the whole business, and the high-quality video and audio has become a seamless replacement for physical presence. I believe Zoom has made us a much smaller company that is more connected and closely aligned to our business objectives.”

Zoom’s video communication platform met several technical criteria for IRESS, including the ability to participate in video meetings from mobile devices, an easy-to-use interface and high-quality video and audio.

“At Zoom, we understand that the ways of working have changed, and will continue to evolve, so we need to be at the forefront of solutions that make remote working easy,” said Michael Chetner, Head of Asia Pacific, Zoom Video Communication. “Whether it’s the ability to join video calls from a mobile device, or specialised Zoom Rooms with one-touch controls which simplify the video conferencing experience, Zoom has developed a solution for every business communication requirement.”

Zoom recently extended its product offering to Australian businesses with the announcement of the Zoom Phone’s expansion to Australia and the UK, offering Australian businesses a cloud Private Branch Exchange (PBX) solution that integrates with its video-first platform.
