STEPHEN KEYS APPOINTED AS SENIOR VICE-PRESIDENT, ASIA PACIFIC, JAPAN, MIDDLE EAST, NORTH AFRICA & TURKEY
Software AG (TecDAX: SOW AG) has announced an expanded role for Sydney-based Stephen Keys, who will now hold the position of Senior Vice-President, Asia Pacific, Japan, Middle East, North Africa & Turkey. The announcement comes on the back of significant revenue growth across these regions. Keys, who is also a member of Software AG's Global Extended Board, joined the company in 2006 as sales director for the Enterprise Transaction Systems business division before taking on overall responsibility for its sales and consulting services businesses across Asia-Pacific in 2012.
"It's exciting to be able to work with more Software AG teams around the globe, and also help more organisations transform into Digital Enterprises, so they can differentiate from competitors and better engage customers, partners and employees," said Keys.
"In 2014 we will continue to reach out to the market with a range of solutions and allow companies to close the gap between business and IT to create digital systems of differentiation that drive front-line agility."
Operationally, the regions under Keys' remit saw 40 per cent license revenue growth in 2013 with Middle East, Turkey and Africa combined with Asia Pacific and Japan contributing more than 10 per cent of global revenues. Keys attributes this to rapid change in the software market, particularly around Big Data and analytics.
GROWTH IN APAC
The APAC region's considerable growth came from strong performance in the banking, utilities and telecommunications industry sectors, with an emphasis on the increased uptake for its process automation, integration and intelligent business operations solutions. Keys attributes growth in these areas in part to broader trends stemming from big data.
"The business world is changing. We have the ability to process, analyse and action information in vast quantities and faster than ever before," said Keys.
"Big Data and analytics can help a company outpace competitors, react to external events and even predict future actions. Big Data allows us to think smart, but Big Data and analytics combined allows an organisation to take the right action at the right time."
EXPANDED APAC TEAM
"Our Australian business is also maturing with deeper customer relationships and more solutions to offer our customers on the back of five major acquisitions in 2013," said Keys.
"In turn, our go to market model should also keep pace with this growing portfolio, which is why we've appointed, or promoted, a number of personnel."
