Axway helps customers maintain business agility with Axway Transfer CFT

New version adds file transfer acceleration, scalable governance, easier management

SYDNEY – July 20, 2011. Continuing its commitment to helping organisations enable secure, easy-to-manage information exchange, Axway (NYSE Euronext: AXW), the business interaction networks company, announced today enhancements to Axway Transfer CFT to help large and growing organisations control multi-platform file and message transfer in an agile, scalable and secure manner.

Enhancements to Axway Transfer CFT provide its customers with a leading managed file transfer (MFT) solution that enables them to meet changing business requirements in any IT environment.

Axway Transfer CFT has a non-intrusive, flexible approach to managed file transfer that allows organisations to securely transfer and track messages and files between disparate hardware and software platforms without application rewrites.

The latest version of Axway Transfer CFT brings vital management capabilities to large multi-site environments and applications. Currently thousands of customers worldwide rely on Axway Transfer CFT to handle critical data exchanges, such as inventory replenishment, build to order, payment consolidations and customer database synchronisation.

PSA Peugeot Citroën, the second largest European automotive manufacturer, with operations in 160 countries, uses Axway Transfer CFT for all of its internal application-to-application (A2A) file transfers and transactions. PSA Peugeot Citroën relies on Axway’s solution to handle 2.5 million file transfers worldwide per month.

“Thanks to the level of product knowledge we have acquired over the years, and the stability and flexibility of Axway solutions, we have been able to keep the team down to four or five people. This is really quite impressive when you look at the large volume of data transfers managed and the large number of file transfer nodes operating,” said Jean-Pierre Michaut, product infrastructure manager, PSA Peugeot Citroën. “Axway Transfer CFT is simple to use and it is fully integrated into our operating environment.”

The latest enhancements to Axway Transfer CFT include:

• Scalable centralised governance – Helps customers better govern their large fleet of installed Axway Transfer CFT software. For critical flows of information, businesses can now configure and deploy changes and patches on a large scale, centrally manage access rights, operate transfer instances from one central point and get real-time information on any node of the Axway Transfer CFT network.

• Instance grouping – For easier management, organisations can group any number of Axway Transfer CFT instances together—by division, country, message type and more—using a robust management console.

• File Transfer Acceleration – This add-on option provides the ability to benefit from large bandwidth networks to accelerate transfer of very large files, especially over great distances.

• Support for Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) – Gives organisations the power to plan their IPv6 migration.

“We recognise the unique challenges large organisations face when transferring mission-critical business information between diverse systems and applications and across multiple sites. Making sure information gets to the correct place, on time and in the right format can be a logistical nightmare,” said Paul French, vice president, product and solutions marketing, Axway. “All of our MFT solutions, including Axway Transfer CFT, are designed to help meet changing requirements in any IT environment to ensure secure, manageable data exchange.”

Axway’s secure MFT solutions enable the transfer of critical business files and help multi-enterprise business processes flow smoothly. Enterprises rely on Axway’s technology to transfer information between disparate platforms, applications and people, in a wide range of formats. Axway’s MFT solutions secure information in motion and at rest and keep pace with constantly evolving B2B standards, and compliance and regulatory demands.
