New Axway Community Management solution builds trusted communities in the cloud

Built on Force.com platform, ACM breaks free from hub-and-spoke model, enables up to 75 per cent reduction in partner on-boarding time

SYDNEY, July 14, 2011. Axway, the Business Interaction Networks company, introduces Axway Community Management (ACM), the first solution of its kind to utilise the Force.com platform for securely managing global business interactions.

Leveraging the success social networks have had attracting members, provisioning technical connections and operating within agreed-upon rules of engagement, Axway now delivers these same benefits to corporate ecosystems. ACM extends traditional on-premise infrastructures with support for a new, cloud-based paradigm, creating a hybrid approach to community management and collaboration.

“Companies are looking not only to manage their trading partners, but fully leverage the power of the broader B2B network they’ve put in the place,” said Dennis Gaughan, managing vice president at Gartner Research. “Community Management offerings need to provide solutions to problems that businesses struggle with – for example, automated certificate management – that have largely been unaddressed by the industry.”

One of the greatest challenges of effectively managing a corporate community is quickly on-boarding and enrolling new customers and partners. On average, on-boarding a single partner to a typical gateway can take more than 30 days and cost tens of thousands of dollars.

ACM reduces the time and expense associated with on-boarding, provisioning and migrating current customers and partners by streamlining communications, managing enrolment workflows and automating profile provisioning in a hybrid cloud/on-premise environment.

Partner information is collected via campaigns of surveys, forms and questionnaires in order to assess readiness and technical capabilities, and to negotiate service terms. ACM uses workflows to automate the partner enrolment and approval process, which ensures requirements are met before moving to the next step, and avoids time-consuming backtracks and re-approvals.

ACM is a technology-agnostic solution that supports any combination of on-premise systems, networks and gateways. Companies can even export information from ACM to easily create profiles or update information, creating value in non-Axway systems.

Built on Force.com – one of the most robust, secure and proven cloud platforms available today, running more than 100,000 custom applications – ACM offers a combination of visibility, agility, security, technical capability and services to partner networks of any size, including non-proprietary campaign management that supports any system, network or gateway. These integrated managed file transfer (MFT) and business-to-business (B2B) services are easily deployed and managed via Axway endpoints.

“Community management has become increasingly complex. The type, volume and frequency of data exchange within corporate communities has grown dramatically, as has the average organisation’s network of partners, customers and suppliers,” said John Thielens, chief architect of cloud services, Axway. “Axway Community Management offers an easier way to manage entire business ecosystems and allows each customer the flexibility to build and manage their communities in a whole new way.”

Axway Community Management delivers robust community management capabilities by closing the gap between business relationship management and technical connectivity. Organizations acquire customers faster, and provide a personalized user experience.

ACM is a subscription-based solution delivering the following key features/functions:

• Automated on-boarding, enrolment and endpoint provisioning campaign management

• Centralized management of profiles across multiple applications and gateways

• Integration for automated profile setup and maintenance across Axway gateways

• Flexible, customizable workflow

• Policy controls for internal and external processes

• Community analytics

• Capability to integrate with third-party systems
