Axway and customer Con-way included in Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 List

Company recognised for increased customer satisfaction, lowered IT cost

SYDNEY, June 17, 2011. Axway, the Business Interaction Networks company, announced today that Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine has included Axway’s work with Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW) in its 2011 Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 list.

The Executive 100 list is designed to spotlight successful and innovative transformation projects, providing proven examples for supply chain executives of how others have driven improvement into their own operations.

Con-way sought a way to integrate with its trading partners and customers, and interact and share data with its partner communities in the most accurate, secure and efficient manner possible. Axway Interchange and Axway Sentinel provided a versatile business-to-business integration (B2Bi) data-exchange system utilising a broad range of protocols and custom web services that, combined with visibility services, delivered smooth, fast data search-and-retrieval process for Con-way’s customers and partners.

More than 65,000 messages and 300,000 transactions flow through Con-way each day, and transactions are retained for up to ten years. Despite this massive volume of data, the Axway solutions delivered a search response time of less than two seconds, ultimately lowering IT costs and increasing customer satisfaction.

“Con-way has more than 700 partners with managed connections, and we feel it is very important to keep that management in-house,” said John Reich, IT manager, enterprise services, Con-way. “We view our B2B connections as another touch point with the customer, so the flexible integration we get with Axway is an important element to a successful service experience for our customers.”

Joe Fisher, EVP, worldwide marketing, Axway, said, “One of the primary challenges companies struggle with is determining how to effectively integrate with customer and partner communities. The innovative use of business interaction technology showcased in the Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 List is a fantastic resource for supply chain executives hoping to solve a challenge within their own organisation.”

The Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 list identifies the top solution providers, consultants and organisations that lead the way in transforming companies' supply and demand chains. This year’s ‘100’ list features supply chain transformation projects that have had a significant impact on companies going through the implementations.

"Our readers count on Supply & Demand Chain Executive for intelligence and decision-making information on solutions and best practices for supply chain transformation," said Andrew K. Reese, editorial director of Supply & Demand Chain Executive. "With this year's Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100, we are featuring '100 Great Supply Chain Projects' that demonstrate the broad spectrum of opportunities for enabling excellence in the supply chain."
