Renouned Brisbane surgeon Professor Andrew Renaut will demonstrate his international award winning innovative use of an internet webcasting platform to broadcast a live, rare and "anatomically interesting" laparoscopic resection of a retroperitoneal tumor in Brisbane on August 5 to surgical students tuning in from all over Australia.
• Professor Renaut will be happy to take media calls anytime between 10 and 12 on 0405 525 416. On the internet technology side you can speak to Julian Lefebvre on 07.5576.5008 after 10 am as well.
The broadcast will take place from OR6 at The Brisbane Private Hospital this THURSDAY AUGUST 5 approximately midday.
NOTE: Viewing live surgery requires a secure login but Professor Renaut is happy to grant temporary access to dedicated non-medical personnel. We will need your contact details in particular your email address. We will then email a username and password. A normal ADSL2+ connection should allow uninterrupted streaming. We can send you a link beforehand to test..
The Professor’s use of the Mediasite webcasting platform to broadcast live surgery procedures has won him international recognition (see Press Release below) and I suggest you also have a chat to Julian Lefebvre on 07.5576.5008 to cover the technology aspect.
