Axis introduces new cost-effective indoor pan/tilt/zoom camera with 29x zoom
SYDNEY, Aust., 25th March, 2010: Axis Communications today presents a cost-effective, easy-to-install indoor pan/tilt/zoom camera with 29x optical zoom and high-quality H.264 video in D1 resolution. AXIS P5532 PTZ Dome Network Camera has an IP51-rated protection against dust and dripping water and is ideal for use in airports, train stations, warehouses, shopping malls and schools. “AXIS P5532 will appeal to installations that want high zoom, fast pan and tilt performance, excellent image quality and event management features at an attractive price,” says Wai King Wong, Axis’ Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand. “AXIS P5532 is designed for easy and reliable installation indoors. It is protected from dust and dripping water, and is powered using High Power over Ethernet.” With an automatically removable infrared-cut filter, the camera’s day and night functionality ensures that image quality is maintained even in low light conditions. AXIS P5532 can deliver multiple, individually configurable H.264 and Motion JPEG video streams simultaneously. H.264 greatly optimises bandwidth and storage use without compromising image quality, while Motion JPEG is supported for increased flexibility. The PTZ camera provides 29x optical and 12x digital zoom with autofocus. With the unique Auto-flip functionality, it can pan 360°—beyond the mechanical stop—enabling an operator to continuously follow an object. AXIS P5532’s support for High Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3at) simplifies installation since only one cable is required for power, video and PTZ controls. A High PoE midspan is supplied with the camera. With Axis’ unique Advanced Gatekeeper functionality, the camera can automatically move to a preset position to capture, for instance, a vehicle license plate or a person’s face when motion is detected in a pre-defined area and after a set time, return to the home position. When an optional multi-connector cable is used, the camera supports two-way audio and audio detection, in addition to four configurable inputs/outputs for connection to external devices such as sensors and relays. The camera’s built-in SD/SDHC memory card slot enables recordings to be stored locally. AXIS P5532 provides the market’s most advanced suite of security and network management capabilities. The camera is supported by the AXIS Camera Station video management software, as well as the industry’s largest base of application software through Axis’ Application Development Partner program. Availability The AXIS P5532 will be available to order in May 2010 and can be purchased via Axis’ Australian distributors: • Alloys International • Anixter Australia Pty Ltd • Lan 1 Pty Ltd • Pacific Communications Contact details for each distributor can be found here: http://www.axis.com/sales/result.php?cc=au&category=5&type=2&prio=1 For photos and other resources, please visit: www.axis.com/corporate/press/press_material.htm?key=p5532 About Axis Communications Axis is an IT company offering network video solutions for professional installations.
