AVG (AU/NZ) Guarantees Renewal Commissions for Resellers
Across the security marketplace, when customers renew (extend the licence period), increase (protect more PCs) or upgrade (change to a product providing more protection) their software licences direct with a vendor, the reseller receives no commission. This general channel issue has now being specifically addressed by AVG (AU/NZ) for its resellers.
Under AVG (AU/NZ)’s Direct Renewal Guarantee, active resellers who have sold the initial licence and whose customers renew, increase or upgrade their licences direct with AVG (AU/NZ) will receive a sales commission..
“When one of our resellers introduces a client to AVG, we recognise the importance of this reseller relationship by ensuring that the renewal, increase and upgrade revenue is shared with that reseller even when the client finds it easier to purchase through our web site,” said Michael Dowling, AVG (AU/NZ) Corporate Sales Director. “Sharing in the ongoing rewards is what a true partnership is about.
“This is a truly revolutionary initiative,” Dowling continued. “Until now if a customer buys a boxed product off the shelf in a reseller’s store or online and then installs it, the reseller had no access to the ongoing revenue stream. That’s why retail box prices are typically much lower than vendor-direct online purchases. The other security vendors don’t let their resellers share in the ongoing value of the customer. Well, AVG (AU/NZ) now does. “We are very conscious of the need to support our channel and maximise the value of being an AVG reseller,” said Dowling. “Our channel model has been extremely successful for us. Now we’re going to make it really hum.”
Through the newly improved AVG (AU/NZ) Reseller Centre Portal, resellers can monitor all licences directly under their control and see reminders about upcoming renewals. Now they can also see the sales commission being accrued if customers renew, increase and upgrade their licences direct with AVG (AU/NZ).
“This Direct Renewal Guarantee shows the real value of our annual reseller survey. The feedback from resellers in the recent survey showed a real concern that they didn’t earn anything if their client renewed, increased or upgraded directly online with AVG (AU/NZ),” Dowling continued. “We’re willing to listen and follow through creatively. We’ve created a point of differentiation for our resellers beyond the quality of our products and service. It’s about securing and maintaining a profitable ongoing relationship between us.”
