Gary Newbold (Ruckus Networks)
Gary Newbold has been appointed as new vice president of Asia Pacific at Ruckus Networks, responsible for field operations, revenue and growth.
In late 2018, Ruckus Networks was acquired by CommScope through the acquisition of its parent company, Arris International, for approximately US$7.4 billion, including the repayment of debt.
It is hoped that the new company formed out of this acquisition will navigate new market trends, including network convergence, fibre and mobility everywhere, 5G, Internet of Things and rapidly changing network and technology architectures.
Based in Singapore, Newbold will lead the vendor’s sales team with a remit of building on recent growth in the region, where customer experience and digital transformation are creating new opportunities.
“We are excited to bring someone of Gary’s talent and calibre to the company,” said Bart Giordano, senior vice president of sales of Ruckus Networks.
“Gary’s extensive experience in the networking industry, channel and direct sales will help drive our next phase of growth at a time when Ruckus is combining cloud-managed Wi-Fi, Internet of Things and analytics to its industry-leading wired and wireless portfolio.
“He will help us capitalise on the latest technology trends, including network convergence, ubiquitous mobility, Internet of Things and cloud."
Newbold brings over 25 years of IT industry experience in both sales and management roles, having most recently led the Asia Pacific region for Gigamon as vice president of sales.
Furthermore, Newbold previously served six years at Extreme Networks in various sales management roles; and also served as country manager for 3Com in the UK and Europe.
“In today’s digital world, the networks that power our customers’ businesses are rapidly converging to meet users’ needs,” added Newbold. “I am excited to join Ruckus at a time when customers appreciate the opportunities that cutting-edge wired and wireless networks will provide.
“I look forward to driving growth in Asia Pacific and working with a talented team to help shape the future of connectivity."
