Cisco has appointed Karrie Ilagan as country manager of Philippines, as the vendor builds out customer and channel capabilities locally.
With more than 20 years market experience, Ilagan was previously managing director of Microsoft Philippines, becoming the first Filipina to manage the tech giant.
In total, Ilagan spent more than 11 years at Microsoft, in a range of management roles including leading the vendor’s partner business locally.
Prior to Microsoft, Ilagan held management roles at IBM during a five-year period, including almost three years as country manager of personal systems in the Philippines.
“Digital transformation is picking up pace in the Philippines and creating opportunities across all sectors of the economy,” Ilagan said.
“I am excited to be joining the company at a time when digital disruption is having a big impact not just on businesses, but also the overall society.”
Looking ahead, Ilagan is tasked with growing Cisco’s customer and channel base, with an increased focus on digital transformation and cyber security.
Ilagan will report to Naveen Menon, president of Southeast Asia at Cisco.
“Karrie is highly energised by the new era of digital disruption happening in business and in society,” Ilagan wrote via social media.
“People and organisations need to push the pedal on agility and innovation to survive and succeed in 4th industrial revolution.”
