World Wide Technology (WWT) has moved to capitalise on the blossoming partnership between Cisco and Google Cloud, through the creation of a testing lab to drive multi-cloud solutions to market.

Under the banner of Google Hybrid Cloud Solution Lab, the offering falls within the provider’s research and testing facility called Advanced Technology Centre (ATC), with the purpose of deep diving into solution architecture capabilities.

“WWT’s extensive experience and capabilities across networking, data centre, security and DevOps uniquely position us to show the incredible value of Google Hybrid Cloud Solutions,” said Tyler Warren, technical solutions architect, World Wide Technology.

“We are working side by side with Cisco and Google to deploy the full solution within our ATC. When complete, it will be the premier location for customers to learn, evaluate and design a Google Hybrid Cloud Solution and accelerate their multi-cloud journey.”

Currently, Warren said customers have 24/7 access to the ATC, powered by advanced automation and engineering expertise.

“The divide between public and private clouds has left customers with a multi-cloud vision that always seems just out of reach,” Warren added.

“Cloud management platforms have done an admirable job abstracting the APIs and reducing the overhead of deploying to disparate clouds, but due to variations across clouds, applications often require platform-specific code.”

According to Warren, the missing piece in the cloud puzzle is a “consistent platform” capable of securely spanning both public and private environments, enabling a “develop and deploy anywhere” model in the process.

“Cisco and Google have partnered to solve just that problem, the result is the Cisco Hybrid Cloud Platform for Google Cloud, planned for availability later this year,” Warren explained.

As reported by sister publication ARN, terms of the Google and Cisco deal will see the creation of an offering capable of enabling applications and services to be deployed, managed and secured across on-premises environments and the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

With such an offering now in the final stages of deployment, the channel is already building strategies designed to help customers maximise investments through hybrid cloud solutions, with WWT a leading example.

The launch comes less than four weeks after the systems integrator announced the opening of a new office in Singapore and the expansion of its Singapore Technology Centre (STC).

As reported by Channel Asia, this expansion is aimed at better supporting the growing Asia Pacific market, which has seen a rapid growth in enabling technologies for digital transformation in recent years.

Specifically, the solutions provider’s new office will be located at Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 2 and will offer virtual integration with STC, with the intention to help enable new innovation work-streams and collaborative opportunities.
