Mobilelron makes Asia Pacific move with new VP hire

Frédéric Gillant will spearhead the vendor’s go-to-market efforts and execution across the wider region

MobileIron, a software company specialising in solutions for mobile device management (MDM) and enterprise mobility management (EMM), has appointed Frédéric Gillant as vice president of sales across Asia Pacific.

Based in Singapore, Gillant will spearhead the vendor’s go-to-market efforts and execution across the wider region, managing sales, channels, and regional operations.

“Frédéric is an experienced Asia Pacific sales leader, with a depth of experience and strong relationships in the region,” MobileIron senior vice president of worldwide sales, Greg Randolph, said.

“He has a strong track record building and leading high performing sales and pre-sales teams in Asia. I am excited about the contribution he will make as we accelerate our growth in Asia Pacific and Japan.”

Gillant’s appointment comes at a time of unprecedented growth across the Asia Pacific region. As modernisation sweeps the region and new networks come online, new opportunities will open up for industry players such as Mobilelron.

In the coming years, the mobile device management (MDM) market, in particular, is expected to grow from US$2.81 billion in 2018 to US$7.86 billion by 2023, according to a report by

Gillant joins Mobilelron will 28 years of IT industry experience and 18 years in Asia Pacific leadership roles.

Specifically, he previously managed sales, channels, marketing and customer success at ShoreTel, a telecommunications vendor that provided unified communications for business. In 2017, ShoreTel was acquired by Mitel.

Prior to joining ShoreTel, Gillant was vice president of Asia Pacific for unified communications and collaboration at Orange Business Services.

Gillant has also led sales and services at T-Systems (Deutsche Telekom) in Greater China and held management positions at Logica (now CGI) and Schneider Electric.

Educated in Paris, France, Gillant graduated from Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers with a master’s degree in science and engineering, as well as a master’s in marketing from ESSEC Business School.
