AsiaPac Technology wins this award in recognition of providing CGS-CIMB Securities (CGS) with first-mover advantage in the financial services through the deployment of VMware Cloud on AWS technologies in Singapore. Following a comprehensive IT infrastructure assessment, the M1 subsidiary leveraged VMware Cloud Discovery to migrate CGS at speed and scale -- also implementing VMware vRealize Operations to manage IT operations across multiple hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The migration has helped CGS avoid allocating 50 per cent of overall IT budget to ageing infrastructure maintenance, while allowing the business to respond to increased regulatory requirements around data control.

Cloud Kinetics wins this award for building a market-leading cloud-centric managed service provider (MSP) spanning Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and beyond ASEAN -- underpinned by over 70 per cent of a 325-strong team housing advanced certification in cloud migration and integration. Such expertise was deployed by Sony Pictures Networks to help scale-up OTT -- over-the-top -- platform capabilities to serve several million customers across Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Leveraging Cloud Kinetics’ architectural expertise, Sony Pictures leveraged the power of Amazon Web Services to roll-out a modernised content delivery network built to deliver maximum scalability and reliability.

Ensign InfoSecurity wins this award for developing a suite of AI-based data models capable of detecting advanced cyber threats based on behavioural analytics. This patented development technique allows models to perform self-learning functionalities to detect both existing and previously unknown threats faster at speed with a high degree of accuracy, plugging into the Singapore-based provider’s Security Operations Center and delivered with specialised managed security services.

Built in Vietnam and exported across ASEAN and beyond, the unique IP recently supported Hanoi-based private automotive start-up VinFast in reducing manufacturing costs while enhancing productivity levels -- reducing expenses by 10 per cent within the space of three months.

Singtel wins this award in recognition of converting the market potential of 5G into an enterprise reality through bleeding-edge customer solutions and services. In bringing together connectivity and multi-access edge compute (MEC) offerings, Singtel 5G is empowering businesses to navigate the 5G paradigm shift and take full advantage of the new and improved capabilities of next generation mobile technology. Such pioneering work has allowed Singtel to capitalise on a first-mover advantage position through collaborating with Hyundai on 5G-enabled smart manufacturing and connectivity for electric vehicle battery subscription service. This is in addition to forming a first of its kind strategic alliance with Surbana Jurong to integrate technology and infrastructure to co-create smart city solutions designed to accelerate the transformation of key industries.

Rueburn wins this award for overhauling Netpluz Asia’s entire marketing campaign approach to focus efforts on the customer lifecycle journey as a business priority. Transitioning away from sending out bulk promotional EDMs which served to only drive up unsubscribe rates -- Rueburn focused on improving lead quality through efficient tracking campaigns, with sales qualified leads increasing from 13 per cent to 70 per cent at a deal closure average rate of 40%.

Within the space of six months, Abbie has on-boarded more than 150 partners across 10 countries, driving $10 million in sales amid an accelerated adoption of video conferencing technologies in Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, Brunei, Hong Kong and Indonesia to name but a few markets.

Jason wins this award for overcoming the economic challenges of COVID-19 to exceed company sales expectations while acquiring key new accounts in the form of NTUC First Campus, Sumitomo Chemicals, Phillip Securities and ST Engineering. Jason also contributed beyond his sales number by working with key partners to capture 90 per cent market share of the personal learning devices with Lenovo in education, in addition to supporting the delivery of managed services projects at 800 Super Waste Management, SP Group and OCBC among others.

Pang wins this award for navigating a challenging business environment to lead Dell Technologies to 28 per cent revenue growth year-on-year across South Asia, underpinned by a 61 per cent order revenue growth delivered via the channel. Under the direction of Pang -- and aligned to his approach of ‘Winning Together’ -- the team has overcome ongoing supply chain challenges to support customers during the height of the pandemic. One such example is shipping 60 servers in less than two weeks to help a bank in Singapore stand up a virtual desktop infrastructure to support 5000 employees working from home.

Winner: Shiju Varghese - Tata Consultancy Services (Philippines)

Shiju wins this award for stepping up to steer Tata Consultancy Services through the stormy waters of the pandemic in the Philippines, maintaining high customer standards and employee support levels despite ongoing lockdown challenges. Within the space of three years, Shiju steered TCS Philippines to a 13.4 per cent growth rate -- delivering a total of 241 projects valued at more than US$740 million while maintaining a 94 per cent customer satisfaction rating in the process. This is in addition to recruiting more than 500 Filipinos during the height of COVID-19, alongside providing weekly employee compensation, a household allowance for staff and an additional 14 days of special leave.


HALL OF FAME

Hall of Fame recognises long-standing leaders who have been instrumental in the development and enhancement of the ASEASN channel. Three individuals were inducted into the Channel Asia Hall of Fame in 2021 -- determined by the executive panel of industry judges plus previous Hall of Fame inductees.
