Ingram Micro has signed a distribution agreement with Veritas in Hong Kong, delivering enterprise data protection solutions through the channel.

Terms of the alliance will see the distribution giant gain access to the vendor’s end-to-end portfolio, spanning back-up and recovery, business continuity, software-defined storage and information governance.

“We are pleased to partner with Veritas, to help enterprises accelerated their digital transformation and solve pressing IT and business challenges including multi-cloud data management, data protection, storage optimisation, compliance readiness and workload portability,” said Biga Luk, managing director of Hong Kong and Macau, Ingram Micro.

The agreement comes six weeks after Veritas appointed Mike Walkey as vice president of global channel sales, strategic partners and alliances.

Walkey is responsible for the vendor’s worldwide ecosystem of channel partners, alongside market alliances with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud and Microsoft among others.

“Mike knows the channel and has a proven track record of building innovative programs that help partners succeed and differentiate themselves in the market,” said Scott Genereux, executive vice president of worldwide field operations at Veritas, speaking at the time of the appointment in September.

Meanwhile, Ingram Micro recently signed a distribution agreement with AWS in Hong Kong and Macau, as part of plans to roll out cloud solutions through the channel.

As reported by Channel Asia, Ingram Micro has joined the AWS Distribution Program, allowing partners to access a "broad range of highly scalable and cost effective cloud services".
