Ingram Micro has signed a distribution agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Hong Kong and Macau, as part of plans to roll out cloud solutions through the channel.

Terms of the alliance will see Ingram Micro join the AWS Distribution Program, allowing partners to access a "broad range of highly scalable and cost effective cloud services".

“We are delighted to be able extend our work with AWS to provide cloud offerings to our partners here in Hong Kong,” said Biga Luk, managing director of Hong Kong and Macau at Ingram Micro.

“The broad selection of AWS services will bring great opportunity and additional business value to our channel partners by enabling them to expand the depth of their cloud service offerings and to deliver upon the promise of secure, cost effective, and reliable cloud computing services globally to their customers.”

Through AWS’s Distribution Program, Luk said Ingram Micro will "support and provide guidance" to solution providers around new go-to-market strategies, including business transformation, cloud operating models, billing and assistance. According to Luk, the goal is to achieve APN program designations.

“With technical support from AWS, our partners can now deliver world-class and transformative cloud services to their customers,” Luk added.

“The collaboration with AWS also allows us to build a community that helps our partners and customers to accelerate the achievement of their cloud strategies whilst accelerating business growth."
