CMC Telecom has rolled out support for Partner Interconnect in Vietnam, designed to allow customers to connect to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) globally.

The move sees the telecommunications provider become the first in-country specialist of Partner Interconnect, a service delivered through the Google Cloud channel.

The offering represents an evolution of Dedicated Interconnect, which provides direct physical connections between on-premises network and the Google Cloud network.

Dedicated Interconnect allows customer to transfer large amounts of data between networks, billed as more "cost effective" than purchasing additional bandwidth over the public Internet.

In addition to Dedicated Interconnect, Google Cloud now allows customers to leverage cloud deployments through a service provider of choice in the form of Partner Interconnect.

“Partner Interconnect gives Google Cloud customers even more connectivity choices for hybrid environments,” said John Veizades, product manager of Google Cloud. "Together with CMC Telecom, we are making it easier for customers to extend their on-premises infrastructure to the Google Cloud Platform.”

With Partner Interconnect, customers can now choose CMC Telecom to provide connectivity "from their facility to the nearest Google edge point of presence".

“CMC Telecom is proud to be partnering with Google and providing direct, private, high-bandwidth connectivity across the globe to GCP,” added Dang Tung Son, CMO of CMC Telecom. “CMC Telecom is delighted to continue to support Google and we're set, certified and ready to offer our customers turnkey solutions to access and connect to the GCP."

According to Dang Tung, the new addition to Google's Cloud portfolio will further strengthen CMC Telecom's cloud offering in Vietnam.

The alliance comes four weeks after Accenture launched a dedicated Google Cloud practice in Indonesia, designed to build cloud-centric solutions targeting enterprise customers.

Under the banner of Accenture Google Cloud Business Group (AGBG), the new division - which expands on a global partnership - will see the technology giants combine expertise to build “tailored offerings” for local businesses.

Specifically, key offerings will include the enablement of multi-channel customer interactions, alongside enhanced data management and the delivery of services for "hyper-personalisation" in marketing, sales and services.

The collaboration will also leverage data and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities from Google Cloud, driven through Accenture's Contact Centre AI (CCAI) solution, to enable "end-to-end customer interaction" across voice and digital channels.
