New cloud and managed service providers (MSPs) have signed up to the Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider program, with channel growth in Singapore, Australia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam.
In addition to recruitment drives in China, India, Japan and Korea, the vendor is placing hybrid cloud hopes on the channel across Asia Pacific.
Key partners include Fujitsu, Bulletproof, Internet Thailand, Micro-D International and Sao Bắc Đẩu Telecom JS in Singapore, Australia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam respectively.
Currently, the program includes more than 300 cloud partners, system integrators and MSPs in Asia Pacific.
Other key partners include software developers and hardware manufacturers, leveraging Red Hat technologies to host physical and virtual machines, set up private and public cloud environments and provide managed application and container development services.
“As innovation and agility become essential to succeed in today’s competitive business environment, organisations in Asia Pacific have shown an increased interest in hybrid cloud,” said Andrew Habgood, senior director of cloud partners across Asia Pacific at Red Hat.
“To help them harness the full value of hybrid cloud, we are committed to empower our partners to offer solutions that provide a solid foundation for cloud-native strategies. Red Hat certified cloud and service providers are able to deliver high-quality cloud services using the latest open source technologies and innovation.”
According to Gartner findings, Asia Pacific will spend $13.6 billion on public cloud services by the end of 2019, up from the $11.7 billion in 2018. Globally speaking, 75 per cent of organisations worldwide are expected to have deployed a multi-cloud or hybrid cloud model by 2020.
Habgood said Red Hat’s program can help solution providers offer “open, cloud-based technologies” capable of providing customers with "scale and flexibly" from a business perspective. Solutions on offer through the channel include Enterprise Linux, OpenShift Container Platform and OpenStack Platform.
“Providers can use those solutions to improve operational efficiency and flexibility, expand their hybrid cloud service offerings, and offer scalable and highly available third-party ISV applications on Red Hat technologies,” Habgood added.
