Snowflake is now generally available on Microsoft Azure in Singapore in response to increased international customer demand.

The data warehouse vendor’s deployment on the platform is designed to target public and private sector customers locally, customers which are aligned to a “flexible cloud strategy”.

“Companies across the globe are migrating to the cloud,” said Peter O'Connor, vice president of Asia Pacific and Japan, Snowflake. “Snowflake provides a simple, high performing, solution with unlimited concurrency. As a customer-centric company, our goal is to expand our availability to each and every one of our customers worldwide.”

O’Connor said the expansion will “continue to support” Snowflake customers with operations in Singapore that hold a desire to keep data local. Globally speaking, Snowflake customers on Microsoft Azure include worldwide brands such as Nielsen, L’Occitane, Nasdaq and MGM Resorts.

“By announcing our availability on Microsoft Azure in Singapore, more businesses will have access to powerful technology designed specifically for the cloud,” he added.

From a technology perspective, the vendor aligns with data management and integration specialists such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud, in addition to solution partners which include Cognizant and Wipro.
