Ingram Micro builds out CloudBlue pipeline

New customers include Colt, Office Depot, T-Mobile and Zones

Ingram Micro has signed up a host of new customers to its CloudBlue division following an expanded in-market alliance with Microsoft.

Key new customers include Colt, Office Depot, T-Mobile and Zones, joining existing agreements in place with Telstra, StarHub and Telefonica among others.

According to findings by Forrester, such customers can expect to see a return on investment of 126 per cent. with CloudBlue’s three-year impact representing $10.8 million in total benefits for new customers.

“CloudBlue does the work of 22 full-time employees and the investment pays for itself in less than three months,” the report stated.

Unveiled in May 2018, the independent software division is designed to help service providers build, scale and monetise cloud and digital services.

As reported by Channel Asia, the practice offers CloudBlue commerce platform and services directly to service providers, including managed service providers (MSPs), telecommunications providers, large value-added resellers and other distributors.

“Helping our customers succeed and find profitable growth is the driving motivator for everything we do at CloudBlue, said Nimesh Davé, executive vice president of Global Cloud, Ingram Micro. “We’ve made significant innovations over the past year that have accelerated growth, and our customers will continue to see exponential development in our technology, ecosystem and acceleration services.”

Davé cited T-Mobile is an example of how speed to market can provide a “compelling advantage”. The telecommunications giant found success through launching the CloudBlue platform, selling a wide range of software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions on its SMB marketplace, alongside provisioning 1,500 IBM MaaS360 seats in the first month of deploying CloudBlue.

Another customer, Tarsus, is forecasting revenue growth in excess of 80 per cent this year based on its implementation of the CloudBlue platform with subscriptions increasing in-excess of 1,000 per cent since launching the distributor's technology.

In May 2018, CloudBlue and Microsoft announced an expanded relationship designed to help businesses build, scale and monetise cloud and digital services, with Microsoft Azure powering the CloudBlue platform.

“Cloud services demand that all of us step up our game and deliver a completely different value proposition to the customer,” added Gavriella Schuster, corporate vice president of Microsoft. “Microsoft partnered with CloudBlue because we’ve seen its proven success saving our customers months of development time, getting them to market and to revenue fast.”
