Wise is understood to have been named AWS vice president of worldwide partners and US Western region sales  as Doug (Dong Hoon) Yeum steps into his former role, according to CRN US.

Before joining AWS, Yeum spent six and a half years with Google, where he held a variety of roles, his final being as managing director for Google Korea.

According to LinkedIn, Yem’s tenure at Google saw him lead the business with a focus on YouTube and mobile, which led to Korea becoming the fastest growing market for Google in Asia Pacific.

He has previously led South Korean IT consultancy firm Xfiniti, and held roles at investment bank BNP Paribas and management consultancy A.T. Kearney.

AWS was contacted for comment regarding the changeover.

He is credited with growing AWS’ partner network to a global ecosystem of resellers, managed service providers (MSPs) and independent software vendors (ISVs).
