Paessler AG has opened a new development hub in Kuala Lumpur amid plans to double headcount across Asia Pacific by 2020.

The new centre of innovation represents a “core component” of the network monitoring vendor’s plans to expand outside of Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) and into the wider region, starting with Malaysia and Japan.

The Malaysian hub will serve over 5,500 existing customers - including active license holders - and more than 550 active channel partners in the region, covering Southeast Asia, Northwest Asia and A/NZ.

“After successfully expanding into the Americas, we are now ready to invest in Asia Pacific outside of Australia and New Zealand; starting with Malaysia and Japan as key anchor points for the region,” said George Wilson, director of Asia Pacific, Paessler. “Malaysia is a key international market for us and is home to a highly skilled workforce that embraces technology growth and innovation.”

According to Wilson, the team is tasked with providing sales and technical support in a number of languages - including English, Japanese, Mandarin and Korean and across time zones. Key hires include system engineers, technical support and business development roles.

“Paessler will focus on tapping into this engineering talent for its development hub to fuel regional growth and continued momentum,” Wilson added.

From a channel perspective, the vendor works with value-added resellers, system integrators and managed service providers, in addition to software retailers and implementation specialists.

Specific to vendors, Paessler also has alliance agreements in place with Amazon Web Services, Cisco and VMware, alongside, NetApp, Fujitsu and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
