Grand Hyatt Singapore has partnered with Canon to improve work processes and daily operations, through the roll-out of print-centric hardware and software solutions.
Operating as a 5-star hotel, the hospitality giant leveraged the vendor’s Image-Runner Advance multifunction devices (MFDs) and Uni-Flow print management solution to drive internal efficiencies.
The hotel reported a 20 per cent spike in staff efficiency levels through Canon offerings, backed by an overall boost in security, productivity and staff satisfaction.
“For me, Canon’s team gives the brand an edge over their competitors,” said Sunny Li, director of IT at Grand Hyatt Singapore.
According to Li, Grand Hyatt Singapore is “constantly searching” for ways to enhance current processes and boost daily operations through new and emerging technologies.
The hotel also required a "more extensive" print management solution, moving beyond basic printing and copying, to keep meet desired efficiency levels.
“The Canon staff I’ve worked with have provided exceptional service throughout, regardless of whether they’re from the sales team, support department or technical division,” Li added.
Through Canon MFDs, Li said work processes were streamlined and repetitive work tasks were reduced.
Grand Hyatt Singapore also implemented Canon’s software solutions, allowing staff to release print jobs and collect printouts from any device within the hotel premises through secure user authentication.
Li said this helped to "deter data leakage and boost information security", with uncollected printouts eliminated and subsequent reduced print waste leading to increased cost efficiency.
Despite a tight timeline for the overhaul project, Li said the Canon team replaced over 60 old devices with new ones – deploying MFDs across various departments and levels all within a week.
A Canon service trainer was also on-site to provide necessary training and answer questions, helping staff to quickly adapt to the new devices.
