Ingram Micro has entered into a strategic partnership with Veeam in Singapore, in a move designed to drive cloud adoption through the channel.

Terms of the agreement - revealed exclusively to Channel Asia - will see the distributor join the Veeam Cloud and Service Provider (VCSP) Program, tasked with raising awareness and driving adoption through the local supply chain.

“We are excited to join Veeam as their key solution aggregator on VCSP Program,” said Francis Choo, vice president and chief country executive of ASEAN and Hong Kong at Ingram Micro. “With our existing vast portfolio and strategic channel reach in both on-premises and cloud solutions, we believe we will accelerate the program outreach to the partners and meet their customers’ demands.”

Ingram Micro will also help Veeam create VCSP growth through enhanced partner support, targeting cloud specialists and service providers.

“A key focus of this program is to meet the needs of hosting, cloud and managed service providers by offering compelling capabilities for enhanced data protection services such as hosting, migration, back-up and disaster recovery-as-a-service (BaaS and DRaaS),” added Effendy Ibrahim, vice president of Southeast Asia and Korea at Veeam.

“It provides expanded usage rights beyond the Veeam End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) to manage and process third -party customer data, including on-premise installations at customer sites.

“With Ingram Micro’s breadth and capabilities, we are confident in further expanding our reach into their cloud community for mutual success.”

The partnership follows the delivery of record growth for Veeam across Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), driven by an expanding channel base across the region.

During FY18, the data management vendor posted 36 per cent growth in APJ - the highest globally - alongside 32 per cent growth in Australia and New Zealand.

Other key regions include Japan and China, as partners deepen capabilities across an expanding cloud data management market.

“It was a great year for Veeam and we are very proud of the 36 per cent growth in APJ – currently, the fastest growing region for Veeam,” said Shaun McLagan, senior vice president of APJ at Veeam. “Our hyper-growth regions, Japan and China, led the way with each growing more than 100 per cent.”

According to McLagan, when speaking to Channel Asia, such success was dependent on a thriving partner ecosystem.

“The success is testament to our strength in being a 100 per cent channel company with great alliance relationships, the united Veeam Team in APJ, and a product suite that meets the demands of today’s data management challenges,” McLagan added.

In April, the vendor appointed Belinda Jurisic as channel director of APJ, in a newly created role designed to drive regional growth.

As revealed by Channel Asia, Jurisic takes charge of Veeam’s channel teams across the region, alongside a partner ecosystem housing more than 3000 resellers and distributors.
