Last week saw the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee in the Vietnamese province of Quang Ninh sign a cooperation agreement with the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) to develop the region’s growing technology sector.

Furthermore, support is expected to be given to help build, deploy and promote the investment efficiency of new models in the field of information technology such as e-government and smart city.
The agreement also covers the establishment of a centralised IT park in Quang Ninh province, with investments in education and training, as well as infrastructure, facilities, as well as initiatives to attract domestic and international IT organisations and enterprises to invest in the area.
In turn, these investments are expected to attract experienced IT professionals to the area, including research and development expertise.
The People's Committee of Quang Ninh and VINASA are also expected to cooperate in the development of a comprehensive IT human resource strategy Quang Ninh province, with the creation of new training institutions, with organised IT human resource development programs, especially human resources for the fourth industrial revolution for Quang Ninh.

The signatories will also work together to help build international cooperation programs between Quang Ninh province and organisations and localities in developed countries with strengths in IT, with a focus on building digital government and smart city capabilities.
Meanwhile, VINASA plans on working with the Quang Ninh People's Committee to organise programs, projects, conferences and seminars to promote the development and application of IT as a foundation and motivation. promoting economic development for the whole province.
