Cloud Ace has established a local subsidiary in Thailand, as the Japan-based business expands operations into a fifth market across Asia Pacific.

Based in Bangkok, the move is designed to allow the Google Cloud specialists to expand the provision of its in-house artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning platform, GennAI, to a wider market of customers.

Headquartered in Japan, Cloud Ace is currently expanding reach across Asia Pacific with offices also in Singapore, Vietnam, Jakarta and Taipei.

The business specialises in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) deployments, spanning system consulting, application development and technical training.

“In 2017, the Thai Government released its 20-year long-term vision for economic growth ‘Thailand 4.0’, and has been encouraging the market expansion of the ‘Digital Economy’, such as big data, data centre, cloud services, and one-stop platforms,” a company statement read.

“With the spread and growth of smartphones at the private sector level and an increase in middle-income consumers, volume of data traffic is also increasing and demand for cloud services among government agencies, public organisations, and large corporations is expected to grow.”

Against such a backdrop, Cloud Ace jointly developed business operations with two leading local partners, in the form of YC Capital and Toyo Business Capital. The aim is to achieve an “early launch” of the provider’s cloud computing services for enterprise customers in Thailand.

“Just as in Japan, we are striving to strengthen and expand future business operations in Thailand as a Premier Partner of Google Cloud,” a company statement added.

The expansion into Thailand comes weeks after Cloud Ace received the 2018 Google Cloud Global Application Development Partner of the Year award, unveiled during Partner Summit at Google Cloud Next ‘19.

Cloud Ace started as a service partner of GCP in 2014, before becoming a Premier Partner in 2017 and expanding across five subsidiaries outside of Japan to further promote the cloud platform.

“We started our business with this award in mind,” said Ayatoshi Yoshidumi, chairman of Cloud Ace. “It has been 10 years and we are delighted because winning this award means that we excel in the field, not only in Japan but globally.”

Key customers include MANTAN, Mediba and Kyocera, in addition to StarGarage, Leading Solutions and Five Star Games.

“Cloud Ace has proven their expertise in Google Cloud and has demonstrated their commitment to customer success over the past year,” added Carolee Gearhart, vice president of Worldwide Channel Sales at Google Cloud.

“We’re excited to keep building on our partnership with Cloud Ace as more and more customers look to our ecosystem to help them succeed in the cloud.”

From a technical perspective, Cloud Ace has acquired more than 200 Google Cloud certifications, housing 69 cloud architects, 60 data engineers, 67 associate cloud engineers and five cloud developers in the company.
