Commvault has appointed Grace Ho as its first ever chief of staff for Asia Pacific, who will also lead the vendor’s business across the region as area vice president of ASEAN.

Based in Singapore, Ho will oversee business operations and growth across key regional markets including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.

“With over 20 years’ experience in driving growth and leading diverse teams at some of the industry’s top technology companies, we are confident that Grace will build on our success in ASEAN and strengthen Commvault’s customer and partner ecosystem across the region,” said Patrick Williams, vice president of sales for APAC, Commvault.

As chief of staff, Ho will also have business transformation responsibilities, primarily to drive synergies and tighten the integration of sales, marketing and product teams to deliver, and achieve region-wide business readiness practices.

“As businesses transform into data-driven enterprises, data management and protection is critical for business continuity,” said Ho. “My priority is to deepen the relationships we have with our customers and partners and engage them through a strategic approach to managing the life-cycle of their data."

Ho joins the vendor from IBM where she served as the chief marketing and communications officer and strategy leader of ASEAN, with responsibility for leading its marketing and growth transformation agenda.

Before joining IBM, Ho held the key positions of chief commercial officer at Singapore Post with responsibility for transforming its sales, marketing and commercial operations to support the company's growth agenda in e-commerce logistics.

In addition, Ho was also the managing director of SAP across the APAC region, where she led the transformation efforts which included integration of marketing and sales, integration of acquisition assets - such as SuccessFactors, Ariba and Fieldglass-  and also strengthening its social and digital strategies.

Ho is also a Microsoft veteran, holding various leadership positions over a period of 10 years, including as global product management director when she was based in Redmond Washington, US.
