Cloud Comrade has partnered with Singapore-based independent software vendor (ISV), Dropsuite, in an effort to address the growing cyber security challenges across the region.

Also Singapore-based, the cloud consultancy company has presence across Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia, and in late 2018 was acquired by ST Telemedia to bolster the investment firm’s multi-cloud and digital capabilities.

As revealed by Channel Asia, Cloud Comrade now operates under a newly incorporated company called Leap, in order to extend the firm’s business delivery capabilities, customer base and geographic reach.

Leap was set up in order to make cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) adoption easier, faster and more effective through an end-to-end IT services play.

Through this most recent partnership, Dropsuite will add its fully-automated cloud back-up and archiving solution to Cloud Comrade’s expanding suite of cloud managed services.

“Cloud storage and collaboration platforms are core to our customers’ operations, and host some of their most sensitive and regulated data,” said Andy Waroma, co-managing director of Cloud Comrade.

“With the constantly rising and evolving cyber threats, we want to be the trusted cloud partner for our customers by continually delivering a robust set of SaaS solutions to protect their digital assets and IT infrastructure.

"We are excited to work with Dropsuite, a market leader in cloud backup, to help our customers implement their adoption of safeguarding strategies for their critical business data."

While Cloud Comrade currently offers a range of managed services including IT infrastructure back-up, its acquisition by ST Telemedia and subsequent affiliation with Leap has broadened its access to cloud solutions including big data analytics, IT infrastructure optimisation and digital experience.

Dropsuite will expand to provider's service offerings to include data and end-user applications security, specifically in data protection and sensitive information compliance including Singapore’s Cyber Security and Personal Data Protection Act.

“Cloud Comrade is the type of business we are excited about partnering with,” added Charif Elansari, CEO of Dropsuite. “They understand that despite the dizzying array of cyber security solutions in the market, having a robust backup solution is an organisation’s best defence against data loss.

“Only offsite back-up can ensure 100 per cent data recovery. This is a threat mitigation best practice and Cloud Comrade is walking the talk by offering our suite of products."

Optimised cloud computing environments are increasingly important as more organisations across Southeast Asia migrate their IT infrastructure to the cloud. They not only save time but they also keep costs low, and ensure that operations run efficiently.

Furthermore, data back-up and archiving are inherently proactive methods that protect data from ever-increasing sophisticated cyber threats or system failure due to a natural disaster, for instance.

Cloud Comrade is also a preferred Amazon Web Services (AWS) consulting partner in ASEAN, as well as a managed service provider for Google Cloud and Ali Cloud.

Meanwhile, Dropsuite’s network of preferred reseller partners has a combined customer reach of millions of businesses worldwide.

The ISV has also partnered with companies such as Ingram Micro, Strato, PAX8, UOL, and ALSO, to safeguard businesses from the threat of unexpected data loss.
