Druva, a cloud data protection specialist, has opened a new office in Singapore amid plans to triple regional revenue within the next 12 months.
Built on Amazon Web Services (AWS), the independent software vendor (ISV) is targeting enterprise customers increasingly turning to cloud to manage and protect data.
Central to such growth ambitions will be the channel, with Druva set to deliver “enhanced support” through “focused, local expertise” and a partner network of more than 600 existing customers in Asia Pacific.
The US-based business aligns with value-added resellers and managed service providers primarily, backed by technology partnerships with AWS, VMware and Nutanix among others.
“Emerging businesses in Asia Pacific, and around the globe, understand that an effective way to grow quickly and meet market demands is by deploying technology that can scale with your business,” said Jaspreet Singh, CEO and founder of Druva.
According to Singh, Asia Pacific boasts one of the “fastest growing” technology markets in the world, citing IDC research which forecasts a 32 per cent increase in cloud services by 2021, exceeding a global average of 21.9 per cent.
“Our new Singapore office will support our goal to provide every business with a better and simpler way to manage their most valuable IP, enterprise data,” Singh added.
As enterprise customers increase cloud adoption, Singh said Druva helps IT teams “streamline” management, visibility and compliance of data sets, removing the requirement for “unnecessary hardware, capacity planning, or software management”.
A key regional customer is China Aviation Oil Corporation, the largest physical jet fuel trader in Asia Pacific and the key supplier of imported jet fuel to China's civil aviation industry.

Another user is Nanyang Technological University, the second largest university in Singapore with more than 33,000 students and 10,000 faculty across eight schools and colleges.

Singh said Druva has also secured SG:D Accreditation from the Singaporean government, allowing the ISV to service the country’s government agencies and leading organisations.
