DYXnet Group has become the first service provider to launch VMware’s software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) by VeloCloud across Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan and Macao.
The addition of VMware’s SD-WAN solution to DYXnet Group’s portfolio provides its customers with an additional cost-effective carrier-grade network capability, enabling enterprises to benefit from greater stability, agility, security, manageability and simplicity.
According to IDC, SD-WAN infrastructure and service revenues are predicted to grow globally at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 69.6 per cent back in 2016 to more than US$8.05 billion in 2021.
The addition of SD-WAN to the provider’s portfolio will facilitate enterprises in the Greater China region to adapt to challenges posed by digital transformation, greater deployment of SaaS, cloud-based applications, the internet of things, a diversity of network technologies, branch complexity and the need for workforces to be increasingly more mobile.
“Our SD-WAN solution provides an extraordinary user experience, while facilitating a reduction in a client's network costs of up to 50 per cent,” said Wing-Dar Ker, CEO, DYXnet Group. “Customers in Hong Kong will be the first to benefit from DYXnet Group's new SD-WAN service, followed speedily by enterprises in Taiwan and mainland China,” added Ker.
The solution comes with a high degree of stability and simplifies network management, with provisioning, monitoring and troubleshooting performed via a single-pane-of-glass management platform.
Enterprises are also able to benefit from zero-touch deployment, application performance and optimal utilisation of bandwidth.
DYXnet Group has over 50 points of presence (PoPs), with around 20 years' experience in building carrier-grade multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) network infrastructure for clients locally, regionally and globally.

“We firmly believe the SD-WAN industry is at a nascent stage, and expect to see DYXnet Group revenue growth rocket twelve fold over the next three to five years, compared with our SD-WAN revenue in 2018,” Ker added.
In late 2018, the vendor launched its SD-WAN solution in Singapore through a partnership with SP Telecom, providing businesses with the ability to automate and prioritise business-critical traffic to travel over faster, more secure connections, as well as set back-up options for downed traffic links.
