VMware has honoured its top-performing partners across Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), as part of the vendor's Partner Leadership Summit in the United States.

“2018 was a fantastic year for VMware and our partners, and we are pleased to recognise all of our 2018 VMware Partner Innovation Awards winners,”  said Jenni Flinders, vice president and worldwide channel chief at VMware.

“VMware, together with our partners, will continue to drive business innovation through next-generation VMware technologies, empowering customers to thrive throughout their digital transformation journeys."

Collectively, awards were handed out across 11 regional categories for outstanding performance and notable achievements during the past 12 months.

The invitation-only summit allowed select partners the opportunity to engage senior executives at VMware and industry peers throughout the four-day event, discussing strategies for profitability and growth as well as how to operate in a quickly evolving market.

At a regional level, VMware recently appointed Uma Thana Balasingam as vice president of partner business across APJ to lead the vendor’s regional channel strategy, taking control of an ecosystem housing solution providers, distributors, OEMs and telecommunications partners.

The vendor has also seen its cloud services offering pick up steam with the Singapore-based bank, UOB, adopting the VMware Cloud on Amazon Web Services (AWS) solution for the bank’s hybrid cloud infrastructure, making it the first organisation in Southeast Asia to adopt the solution.
