Infrastructure provider, INET Thailand, is set to be the first VMware cloud provider in Thailand to offer HCX Cloud Services for cloud migration, app mobility and infrastructure hybridity.

"VMware is committed to building the right digital foundations for organisations in Thailand,” said Sanjay K. Deshmukh, vice president and managing director of Southeast Asia and Korea at VMware.

“Through our partnership with INET Thailand, organisations will now have access to VMware Cloud Foundation, the industry-leading solution for hybrid cloud that unifies the essential cloud infrastructure capabilities of compute, storage, networking and integrated cloud management.

“With Cloud Foundation, organisations will be able to modernise their data centres; rapidly migrate applications and entire data centres to the cloud; scale on demand for disaster recovery and seasonal spikes, putting them in a good position to succeed in the new digital economy."

As Thailand undergoes its own digital transformation inline with the country’s Thailand 4.0 initiative, more local organisations are investing heavily in digital technology to stay competitive in a rapidly changing market.

In fact, IT services spend increased by 9.2 per cent in Thailand during 2018 to reach 92.6 billion baht (US$2.92 billion), according to IDC.

Furthermore, public cloud spend across the Asia Pacific region, excluding Japan, is expected to grow exponentially at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 32.58 per cent between 2016 to 2021.

“Thailand is rapidly transforming into a digital economy,” added Morakot Kunlathamyothin, managing director of Internet Thailand Plc (INET). “At INET Thailand, we are committed to providing the necessary tools for organisations to modernise their IT  infrastructure and become more connected while digitalising their operations.

“We believe that VMware’s best-in-class solutions will empower our customers to do so with ease and agility, building a flexible yet secure digital foundation required to excel in digital transformation."

This partnership is also timely, given the shift towards hybrid- and multi-cloud environments across not just Thailand but the wider region.

The HCX Cloud Services solution is set to benefit organisations across Thailand who want to make the transition from their legacy on-premise infrastructure to a hybrid- and multi-cloud environment.

The solution will enable workloads to be migrated both to and from the cloud without any modification at the source, and app mobility equates to interoperability across varied software and hardware environments.

Security is also embedded into the process through hybrid networking and replication, as well as disaster recovery capabilities.

Furthermore, the ability to perform live migration with zero to low-downtime also means that organisations can continue to run on a business-as-usual basis.

“The new VMware HCX offering will be a true game-changer for organisations looking at adopting modern data centre architectures by enabling seamless mobility at an unprecedented scale,” said Ekpawin Sukanan, country manager of Thailand at VMware.

“INET Thailand is a well-known ICT infrastructure provider in Thailand. We are excited that INET is now in our elite list of VMware Cloud Verified Partners.

“We believe ICT is well-placed to help usher Thai organisations into the hybrid and multi-cloud universe, enable them to capture new business opportunities and catalyse growth in the digital economy."

VMware Cloud Verified partners are a set of strategic partners offering a complete VMware SDDC as a service as well as value-added services and support from their data centres via Cloud Foundation.

The VMware Cloud Verified trust mark gives enterprises assurance that their cloud provider offers the most complete and advanced VMware technologies, with consistent infrastructure and operations across clouds.

VMware now has 35 VMware Cloud Provider Program partners that have achieved VMware Cloud Verified status.

The vendor also recently appointed Uma Thana Balasingam to lead its Partner Business across Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), recruiting the channel veteran from Riverbed.
