Access management vendor, BeyondTrust, has recruited Gene Ng as new regional vice president of Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).
Based in Singapore, Ng joins the vendor after nine months at CA Technologies where he held the position of vice president of security solutions for APJ.
Ng has also held senior positions at IBM Security, Blue Coat, McAfee and 3Com, in addition to setting up his own business operation focused on security product distribution, services and training.
At BeyondTrust, he will hold responsibility for the firm’s business operations across the APJ region, in addition to overseeing efforts to help businesses in the region identify and remediate asset vulnerabilities often targeted by cyber attackers.
“Working with our partners in the security industry, coupled with our experience and expertise of the region’s unique security requirements, has enabled us to meet the needs of our diverse customer base,” said Brent Thurrell, senior vice president of international at BeyondTrust.
“Gene’s experience within this important region is a force multiplier for the company and will ensure we effectively enhance customer relationships and support the region’s significant business growth."
Ng has also served on the executive committee of the security and wireless chapters of SGTech (formerly known as Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation), and has been an active member of the information systems security association (ISSA) and special interest group in security and information integrity.
He has also participated in the accreditation/certification evaluation panel of the national infocomm competency centre, and on the executive committee of the young entrepreneurs’ organisation.
