Data protection vendor Veritas has acquired US-headquartered Aptare, a provider of analytic solutions for hybrid cloud environments.
Through the buyout, Veritas will be able to offer customers an enhanced analytics platform that provides insights and reporting across different data protection, virtual infrastructure and storage environments, according to the vendor.
Visibility into the entire infrastructure, one common reporting platform and the ability to predict outcomes are also some of the benefits that Veritas claimed customers will gain access to.
Aptare also supports hybrid cloud storage and backup systems, as well as technologies such as OpenStack, software-defined storage and flash infrastructures.
"With Aptare's IT Analytics, Veritas customers will now benefit from enhanced reporting and analytics across NetBackup and other third-party applications," said Greg Hughes, CEO of Veritas Technologies.
"We’re making it simpler for customers to access critical information about their infrastructure and providing them with a one-stop shop for all reporting requirements - on premise, in any cloud and across their technology ecosystem."
The acquisition will also strengthen Veritas' product integrations with vendors including VMware, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, OpenStack and ServiceNow.

Aptare was founded in 1993 as a consulting company later changing to include enterprise-ready IT analytic solutions.
