Veeam Software has officially opened its new Asia Pacific including Japan (APJ) headquarters in Singapore on the 33rd floor of Suntec Tower Four.

The new office will act as the software vendor’s new regional headquarters, which is the fastest growing region for the firm, recording growth of 36 per cent in 2018.

“I am excited to open our new APJ headquarters in Singapore today,” said Ratmir Timashev, co-founder at Veeam Software, who attended the opening ceremony. “I am confident this office will take us to the next level.

“The region is important to us and we plan to continue our growth by almost 40 per cent this year with our 100 per cent channel, partner and alliance strategy.”

The vendor’s regional steller growth has led the organisation to invest more broadly across the region, with a new Shanghai office planned and a Tokyo office to follow in a couple of months.

“Veeam is a people business and we take pride in the people we work with,” said Shaun McLagan, senior vice president, Asia Pacific and Japan for Veeam Software. “Veeam will continue to grow and invest in our partners and alliances."

In addition to new offices across the region, the vendor also plans on increasing its regional personnel to over 400 by the end of 2019, up from its current 300 employees.

At the vendor’s new office in Singapore, a similar percentage increase is expected, moving from the current 30+ employees to 40+ employees by the end of 2019.

As a 100 per cent channel organisation, partners have been integral to the vendor’s continued regional growth.

Globally, the vendor has over 61,000 channel partners, and over 21,000 cloud and service providers, while regionally, in APJ, over 8,000 channel partners work to build marketshare for Veeam as well as over 2,000 cloud and service providers.

“It was a great year for Veeam and we are very proud of the 36 per cent growth in APJ – currently, the fastest growing region for Veeam,” said McLagan on his organisation’s recent performance, which he credits to a thriving partner ecosystem.

“The success is testament to our strength in being a 100 per cent channel company with great alliance relationships, the united Veeam Team in APJ, and a product suite that meets the demands of today’s data management challenges.

"We saw significant growth in every sector - from SMB to commercial, enterprise and cloud."

Furthermore, McLagan revealed that the firm’s multi-premise and multi-cloud strategies will constitute the foundation of its data protection and backup offerings in 2019.

“We are investing significantly in the region and expect to see similar growth this year,” said McLagan.
