Google has expanded its Android Enterprise Recommended program to include managed service providers (MSPs) alongside providers that provision, manage and support millions of devices around the world on behalf of customers.
This Google-led program is designed towards giving customers the confidence in deploying Android and ensuring their enterprise mobility deployment is as consistent and as current as possible.
Several organisations have already been validated as Android Enterprise Recommended partners, namely, Accenture; Brodos; Cognizant; DXC Technology; Econocom and Honeywell Enterprise, in addition to Mobile Mentor; Mobility MEA; Offshore Tech; Tech Data and Vox Mobile.
“Organisations from all industries are navigating the shift to digital, redesigning processes, and adopting new systems to enhance the workplace experience and productivity,” said Venu Lambu, senior vice president and global head of technology services at Cognizant.
“As businesses identify new revenue streams and operating models, it is essential that their workforce is equipped with the tools needed to remain competitive.
"We are excited to be a part of the recently launched Android Enterprise recommended partner program for MSPs and to be recognised for providing consistent mobility deployment experiences that foster collaboration, innovation and productivity within the workplace."
More MSPs are expected to be added to the program over time.
Google sees its validated Android Enterprise partners as exhibiting technical expertise and leadership with dedicated personnel trained by Google on implementing and supporting Android.
Furthermore, they should have experience with Android Enterprise recommended enterprise mobility management systems, as well as a close working relationship with Google for planning and escalation issues.
They should also have a commitment to staying current on the latest Android product features and training requirements, according to Google.
“With each step, we are aiming to give customers more confidence in deploying Android and ensuring their deployment is as consistent and current as possible,” said Vincent Ricci, global head of Android Enterprise Business Development, Service Providers, Google.
“Since Android Enterprise Recommended launched, we have received great feedback from customers who are putting the program to use."
