Dimension Data has been appointed as the IT partner of choice for an end-to-end technology project at an on-demand multi-service mobile platform, headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The technology integrator has been appointed to help secure its network connectivity, improve network infrastructure and increase employee productivity.
The multi-service mobile platform deals with a million transactions daily across its portfolio of services, while providing services to a network of customers and partners.
“Today’s dynamic digital landscape means organisations need to constantly focus on empowering and engaging their employees to accelerate business innovation,” said Hendra Lesmana, country general manager of Dimension Data Indonesia.
“They need to keep pulse with constant changes and stay ahead by maximising internal efficiencies through technology. We are very excited to be working with one of the region’s most exciting technology innovators that is leading the on-demand services industry on mobile today.
“We are committed to the success of the implementation and believe that it will continue to improve employee productivity, drive enhanced collaboration, enhance security and boost business innovation."
The project encompasses product management, design and implementation of an integrated network infrastructure solution. The partnership will also provide technical and support services to further optimise performance.
Furthermore, the overall solution includes wireless authentication based on Google Apps credentials in the cloud. This allows employees to bring their own devices (BYOD) and connect to the office network in a seamless and secure manner.
With highly available internet connections and a stable network infrastructure, the IT team no longer needs to rectify connectivity issues on-demand, resulting in productivity gains and time savings.
Dimension Data was selected for demonstrating a "pro-active understanding" of the client’s business challenges and how to go about solving them. This includes dedicated wireless and network assessment sessions and workshops to deep-dive on the business requirements and map out network improvements.
In December 2018, Dimension Data partnered with a major Indonesian retailer to implement a cloud-based SD-WAN solution with Cisco to efficiently operate over 450 stores across Indonesia.
Furthermore, in December, the system integrator signed a networking agreement with an unnamed “luxury goods conglomerate”, taking charge of the day-to-day management of networking and connected devices, assisting them to migrate their global network operations to Singapore, saving costs and manpower requirements of maintaining a worldwide infrastructure.
Meanwhile in August, the provider was selected following a competitive tender process to help develop the regional cyber security strategy of a major regional utility giant.
