Blue Prism has made two key appointments in Asia Pacific (APAC), hiring Rob Mills as vice president of Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) and promoting Mike Cawsey to the newly created position of senior vice president and general manager of the region.

According to Cawsey, the appointments have been triggered by increased customer demand across the wider region.

The software vendor opened its first office in Singapore in August 2018, which now serves as the company's regional headquarters, in addition to a Hong Kong office to support a growing list of Asian Fortune 500 clients that includes Great Eastern Life, Maybank and Schroders.

The Singapore office was not its first office in APAC however, following the opening of a Sydney base in April 2017.

In APAC, the vendor runs a 100 per cent channel business and has a number of strategic alliances including EY, Accenture, Avanade, Deloitte, Microsoft, PwC and the Reveal Group.

The vendor recently unveiled Digital Exchange, an intelligent automation marketplace for accessing and downloading pre-built artificial intelligence, cognitive and disruptive technologies, creating a one-stop shop for building out, scaling and adding skills to digital workers.

"Blue Prism has fast become the choice for intelligent automation and operational transformation in Australia and New Zealand and Rob is well placed to steer our A/NZ operation to the next level,” said Cawsey.

"He will be responsible for extending our leadership position in Australia and New Zealand, educating the market about next generation intelligent automation and developing our growing A/NZ team."

Mills joins the vendor with over 25 years’ software sales and operational experience, most recently as head of sales at data software company IXUP Limited.

Previously he was global vice president of connect solutions at Objective Corporation, a provider of information and process governance software solutions, alongside senior roles at Information Builders and Novell.

“It is an excellent time to be joining Blue Prism as our market is reaching an inflection point in the adoption of RPA technology as Australian companies realise the value that our digital workforce creates,” said Mills.

“I am looking forward to working with our partners and clients to drive innovation and exceptional results as we move further into the world of Intelligent Automation where AI will drive even more advanced digital workforce capabilities."
