Craig McGregor has been appointed as the first Asia Pacific channel director at SailPoint, joining the US-based identity security vendor from a channel sales manager role at IBM.
SailPoint’s cyber security products provide identity governance, password management and compliance controls, in addition to access request and automated provisioning.
The solutions are designed to provider customers with visibility into who is accessing files, the risk it represents and the action that can be taken, linking people, applications, data and devices.
McGregor had a brief stint at IBM, leaving five months into the channel sales manager role, having previously spent more than three years as the channel sales director for Check Point Software, who recently appointed Hamish Soper to the role.
Between June 2012 and May 2015, McGregor was the national partner manager at Symantec.
During his time at Symantec, he was responsible for managing Symantec’s largest partners in the A/NZ region and incorporated business and marketing planning, executive relationship management, sales pipeline development and partner enablement.
McGregor was also the A/NZ channel sales manager at Adobe for more than five years.
Within the local market, SailPoint customers include Vanguard, Catholic Education Western Australia and Medibank.
In November last year, SailPoint made its debut on the New York Stock Exchange and in September appointed its board member, William Bock, as its chairman, as it continued to transition from being privately- owned by Thoma Bravo, to a publicly trading company.
