Australia-based Data Republic aims to capitalise on future growth opportunities in Asia through the appointment of Lynn Thompson as country manager of Singapore.
A developer of a data sharing platform, Data Republic was founded in 2014 with the understanding that data sharing can be too legally complicated, risky and time-consuming for organisations to manage at scale.
As such, the platform was designed to make it safer, more secure and more scalable for organisations to collaborate on and share data.
Thompson will join the company to help grow the business in Singapore, where he previously worked with Deloitte Digital and Firemark’s InsurTech Hub, responsible for launching and operating the emerging technology and artificial intelligence (‘AI’) hub.
“Lynn brings a great deal of experience to the team as a result of working in start-ups and corporate enterprises across APAC, and has a strong understanding of the risk and value of data, as well as its ability to unlock exponential value for companies who utilise it,” said Paul McCarney, co-founder and CEO of Data Republic.
“Singapore has exceptional local technical talent, leadership, and business infrastructure that naturally aligns with our long-term growth plans for the region. Lynn will be focused on growing our Singapore team and partnerships over the next 12 months."
Data Republic senate platform regulates how shared data is permitted for use on the platform, delivering a suite of tools that facilitates the proper governance and control of how data is shared and with whom, be it across teams, with an existing supplier, partner or a potential collaborator.

The provider has several projects planned for Singapore in the coming years, and is looking to further expand its local headcount across the city-state.
