
Melissa Ries (Tibco)
Software specialist Melissa Ries has joined Tibco as general manager of Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) with a mandate to drive growth and customer engagement across the region.
Ries will be based in Singapore with responsibility for driving sales, customer engagement, partnerships, and alliances across APJ.
“Melissa’s rich experience within the data analytics industry as well as her solid, proven results and experience with various organisations make her uniquely qualified to drive our business in APJ,” said Steve Hurn, executive vice president, global sales, Tibco.
“As the Asia Pacific and Japan region experiences unprecedented growth, particularly in data analytics, Melissa’s success in helping organisations unlock their full value will undoubtedly enhance our position in this market."
Ries’ appointment will also mark a milestone for Tibco, being the first female executive to lead the region for the vendor.

Ries joins the software vendor with over 25 years of experience in the software industry having held various positions across sales, pre-sales, services, support, marketing, and R&D.
Previously, Ries had responsibility for growth and leadership of Skillsoft across the APJ region, while also spending years as the APJ general manager for data analytics and cloud business, Pivotal.
Ries' regional experience will put her in good stead to grow the vendor’s business having previously led teams across Japan, China, Singapore and Australia.
