Regional ISVs drive container adoption for Red Hat

ISVs drive OpenShift adoption across Asia Pacific

Red Hat has reported increased adoption of its container application platform, OpenShift, across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, driven by independent software vendors (ISVs).

Unveiled during the vendor's partner conference in Bali, Singapore-based ISV Biqmind now offers the solution across key verticals, such as financial services, IT, and oil and gas.

Other regional players such as BoCloud (China), UEC Group (China), Yusys Technologies (China), EAB Systems (Hong Kong), and Monoplus (Japan) have also begun offering the service.

"Biqmind software framework, Cloud-in-a-Box, and enablement support offer independence and help to liberate our partners to drive rapid, cost-effective development with the ability to scale out, accelerate collaboration and innovation, and make data actionable anywhere,” said Mark Mooney, COO, Biqmind.

"We chose Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform as the orchestration layer that makes this framework possible."

The OpenShift container application platform brings Docker and Kubernetes to the enterprise, greatly improving the speed and capability to deploy applications across a multitude of architectures.

As more organisations adopt a multi-cloud approach, the interest in container technologies has increased, with regional ISVs integrating the likes of OpenShift into their products and services to attract cloud-first customers.

"Businesses in Asia Pacific are increasingly realising how a leading container platform such as Red Hat OpenShift can help them increase agility and accelerate innovation to be ahead of their competitors,” added Balaji Swamy, director of ISV and embedded business for Red Hat Asia Pacific.

"With OpenShift, customers can enjoy a consistent environment throughout their organisation, from development through production, with the knowledge that enhanced security capabilities are integrated throughout the entire application lifecycle."

The OpenShift platform is built on an open source framework that includes Kubernetes, the container orchestration engine, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, that has been designed to provide a secure and stable platform for container-based deployments.

The platform enables more traditional applications to co-exist alongside new, cloud-native and container-based applications.

Red Hat OpenShift unites developers and IT operations to build, deploy and manage applications consistently across hybrid cloud infrastructures and helps enterprises deliver modern and traditional applications more quickly and efficiently.

“We are pleased to support ISVs and the expanded OpenShift community as they drive new opportunities across the region and industries," said Swamy.
