Citrix launches on-ramp to Microsoft Azure in Singapore

Citrix SD-WAN solution can be purchased through channel or Azure Marketplace

Citrix has entered into a partnership with Microsoft to provide Citrix SD-WAN solution as an on-ramp to Azure, for the new Azure Virtual WAN service.

Available in Singapore, the joint solution is designed for the WAN edge of Azure that aims to enhance the overall user experience, as well as deliver consistent productivity and automate the branch-office network deployments.

“Microsoft and Citrix have achieved yet another milestone in delivering joint solutions for digital workspace and application networking,” said Alex Ong, country manager of Citrix Singapore.

“These joint solutions give customers a much richer experience, granular levels of security at an app level and more choice and flexibility as they move ahead in their cloud journey."

Furthermore, the Citrix SD-WAN solution can be purchased either from Citrix’s own channel partners or directly from the Azure Marketplace, with the availability of flexible licensing options.

The Citrix provides an application-aware access solution from each enterprise branch to the Microsoft Azure Virtual WAN service, improving performance, reducing costs, and enhancing security at the app and network level.

“Citrix SD-WAN delivered on Microsoft Azure is the latest example of our collaboration with Citrix, which has always been centred on innovation and the success of our mutual customers and partners,” added Ross Ortega, partner manager of Azure at Microsoft.

"Together, we defined the virtual desktop category and now we are collaborating on new a Citrix SD-WAN solution on Azure, which will bring new and exciting functionality for our mutual customers."

Furthermore, the joint solution can be deployed as a complete SD-WAN service stack, operating as a do-it-yourself SD-WAN or managed cloud service with built-in automation that simplifies small point-of-sale (POS) networks to large-scale branch-office network deployments.

Improvements to the user experience and workspace productivity are also brought about through the optimised routes of Microsoft’s large global private network within the Azure platform.

Automatic information sharing is enabled between the Azure head-end and the on-premise SD-WAN device through the integration of Azure Resource Centre and Citrix SD-WAN Centre.

Network expansion is also made simpler through Citrix SD-WAN because of its support for template-based cloning.
