Red Hat has launched an Asia Pacific (APAC) program targeted at helping system integrators (SIs) build and modernise applications for the cloud.
The new initiative is designed to allow partners to deliver new services at a lower cost and accelerate development for faster return on investment.
Specifically, the Red Hat OpenShift Practice Builder Program has been designed to do just that, using the vendor's container application platform, Openshift, and a portfolio of enterprise-class application and integration middleware software products, JBoss Middleware.
"System integrators are key to helping Asia Pacific companies innovate through the development of new cloud and container-enabled applications, as well as modernising existing applications,” said Josep Garcia, vice president of partners and alliances, Red Hat Asia Pacific.
"Global systems integrators like Accenture, Atos, DXC, HCL and Wipro have already built skills and solutions on Red Hat’s technology to address their customer’s needs."
Garcia said digital transformation continuous to drive demand for containerised solutions for companies looking to scale and deploy modern applications easily and securely.
Furthermore, Gartner predicts that by 2020 more than 50 per cent of global organisations will be running containerised applications in production, up from less than 20 per cent today.
"We are excited to bring the Red Hat OpenShift Practice Builder Program to help SIs in this region more quickly build expertise on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform,” added Garcia.
The program was built in consultation with several regional SIs involved in its development, including NTT Data in Japan, Wipro in India, Sino-Bridge in China and Integral and ANATAS in Australia.

"Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform will be a core technology to help drive our legacy-digital integration platform, which aims to help customers migrate their on-premise assets to the cloud to maximise their value."
In addition, the program has been designed to not just be relevant to established SIs, but also to new age, ‘born-in-the-cloud’ SIs who are building DevOps or a modern application development practice.
