Matthias Yeo has announced his intention to vacate his role as CTO of Symantec across Asia Pacific, with the industry veteran set to join Fund Singapore.
Revealed via social media, Yeo exits after more than four years, having been tasked with driving the security vendor’s solution strategy across the region.
“Time to say goodbye to Symantec,” wrote Yeo, via social media. “It has been a wonderful Blue Coat \ Symantec journey. Full of memories, built great friendship, but time for the next journey for my life.
“I will be moving to Fund Singapore, to build an incubation centre for new technologies. So blessed to have such an opportunity, and so blessed to have gone through such an experience.”
During his tenure, Yeo helped oversee Symantec’s acquisition of Blue Coat from a technology standpoint, which was announced in June 2016.
Prior to Symantec, Yeo was regional enterprise solution architect at McAfee, while also holding management roles at EDS and Infocomm Technologies.
With more than 15 years technology expertise - spanning mobile security, network defence, data protection, risk and compliance and endpoint security - Yeo specialises in planning and implementation, having previously built managed security services during his career.
Going forward, Yeo will assume a technology-centric position within Fund Singapore, a company focused on funding local start-ups through Singapore-based crowdfunding initiatives.
The business has three main categories of fundraisers; start-up, corporate, and real estate, which are identified according to distinct funding needs and requirements.
