Protegrity is looking towards the Asia Pacific region, with the provider of data-centric enterprise data security solutions opening its first regional sales office in Singapore.
“We are excited about the opportunity Asia Pacific presents to Protegrity and look forward to working with the region’s leading organisations to address their data protection needs,” said Suni Munshani, CEO of Protegrity.
The Asia Pacific region offers increasingly varied opportunities for data security organisations, as the region undergoes unprecedented development.
“Asia Pacific is leading the charge on digital disruption and innovation but is equally having to contend with the increases seen last year in malicious data breaches across the region,” added Simon Brender, general manager of Asia Pacific, Protegrity.
“Our technology and expertise is ideal for helping organisations address these challenges, whilst also meeting their obligations under the various regulatory frameworks.”
Protegrity has experienced regional interest in the platform it developed for data security. The platform offers centrally-controlled data discovery, security and user activity logging for applications, databases, big data warehouses, mainframes, and cloud.
The solution offered by Protegrity works to complement traditional silo-based security. In this model, the data is only protected so long as it remains in the silo. Once data moves out of the silo it becomes vulnerable.
Instead of relying on a silo, the data itself is secured. It does this by making use of tokenisation, encryption, format preserving encryption (FPE) and masking to protect data across all silos, wherever it goes, regardless of the silo, location, or vendor.
Outside of Asia Pacific, the security vendor has office locations in the US, Europe, and India.
