Modis answers need of tech-savvy Singapore with consultancy launch

Singapore may be small in size, but the city-state is not short of opportunities in the technology sector

Singapore may be considered the top destination for attracting talent in the Asia Pacific region, according to the Global Talent Competitiveness Index, but with the nation-state pushing to be the world’s first smart nation, talent is still in short supply.

As a result, Modis, a brand of Swiss-based Adecco Group, is on an expansion drive, launching its technology consulting and professional staffing services to the Singapore market.

Specifically, the technology provider is delivering end-to-end solutions to customers, which also include project services, managed services, customised solutions and full IT outsourcing projects.

Singapore may be small in size, but the city-state is not short of opportunities in the technology sector.

Digital transformation is impacting every aspect of how companies are conducting business and with the government’s help, are achieving commendable results at breakneck speed.

This speed of change presents its own challenges, namely the availability of local expertise and talent. Even with Singapore’s keen eye for efficiency and getting things done, the talent shortage is expected to worsen and fall below employer demand.

Heading Modis Singapore will be Pierre-Francois Vieau, a French national who has worked and lived in Southeast Asia and Australia since 2009, involved in various roles within large global recruiting firms.

"Modis is unique in its ability to enhance any project within the tech world, by connecting companies with the right talent solutions for their needs," Vieau said.

"We will offer our clients top expertise, flexibility and agility to embrace innovation throughout their project or product lifecycle, to drive change, or to accompany them in their digital transformation."

Modis will service about 20 territories, globally, across four continents, combining existing businesses in IT, engineering and life science solutions in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia - with the 11 other IT, engineering and life sciences brands from within the Adecco Group.

The full range of professional staffing, project management and outsourcing, up-skilling and re-skilling and consultancy in the IT sector, offered by Adecco Group will also be offered by Modis.

“Launching Modis in Singapore is highly complementary to the existing Adecco Group brands in place -- that includes the Adecco General Staffing Brand and Spring Professional,” Adecco Group regional head of APAC, Ian Lee, added.

“The group is well placed to support the increasingly sophisticated needs of organisations across Singapore.”

More than 30,000 associates and consultants worldwide, with a network of 20 centres of excellence and delivery centres make up an expanded Modis.

In Singapore, Modis joins other Adecco Group brands that operate in the market, which  include Adecco, Spring Professional, Lee Hecht Harrison & Pontoon Solutions.
