Google Cloud has offered its largest endorsement of the regional channel to date, through the opening of multiple partner facing roles across Asia Pacific and Japan.
Channel Asia can reveal that the tech giant is taking steps to build out an ecosystem of resellers, integrators and independent software vendors (ISVs) from India to Japan, as global cloud ambitions become regional realities.
Under the banner of partner success manager, the vendor is seeking expertise across Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines, alongside similar roles in India, South Korea, Taiwan and China.
Specifically, the candidate will analyse partner business performance, identify methods of increasing partner and Google returns, as well as pitching ideas to and identifying opportunities within partner organisations.
“As our partner success manager, you hold a holistic view of channel business and are responsible for working with different teams within the Google organisation,” the job adverts state.
“This role is unique in its overall responsibility for establishing and maintaining the business execution with Google partners.”
In searching for eight years of experience building partner ecosystems, Google Cloud is also hunting for strong capabilities in cloud platforms, spanning platform-as-a-service (PaaS) and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS).
Furthermore, Google Cloud is also actively driving channel engagement within Japan, through the availability of two partner development roles, a partner specialist position and a head of partnerships opening, all based in Tokyo.
The channel drive comes as the vendor expands Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services across the world, having recently added new regions in Montréal and the Netherlands.
GCP has 15 regions, 45 zones, over 100 points of presence, and a global network with 100,000s of miles of fibre optic cable.
Closer to home, the vendor has five cloud regions across Asia Pacific, spanning Singapore, Taiwan, Tokyo, Sydney and Mumbai.
From a channel perspective, Singapore-based Ash Willis is head of cloud partners and alliances across Asia Pacific and Japan for Google Cloud.
